The Deering Police Department announces that the accepted Halloween Trick-or-Treating hours for the Town of Deering, NH, will be on Monday October 31st, 2011, from 4:00 PM to about 8:00 PM.
During this time the Deering Police will be accompanied by members of the Deering “Hillcat Police Explorer Post #612” Cadets for our 9th Annual Trick-or-Treating Detail in the Longwoods Mobile Home Park, where we will conduct safety patrols as well as hand out activity “goodie” bags from our cruiser stationed at the corner of Wyman Road and Martin Road. We will also have an officer/cruiser assigned to general patrol, and he will have activity bags to hand out to trick-or-treaters that he encounters throughout the other areas of Deering.
It is highly recommended that smaller children be accompanied by older siblings or parents, and that all revelers and chaperones have flashlights and/or safety reflective materials visible. Please be careful and inspect all candies or treats for signs of tampering, and call our dispatch center at 464-3600 if you encounter a concern or problem while trick-or-treating in Deering.
As usual, we look forward to meeting all the little ghosts and goblins and superheroes on Halloween night!
