Deering Conservation Commission
November 4, 2002 Meeting
at the Deering Town Hall
Call to order: The meeting was called to order at 7:40 PM by Chm. Ed Cobbett
Attendance: Present: Chm. Ed Cobbett, Michelle Johnson, Keith Johnson, Kym Hall, Steve Ainsworth, Gary Bono, Bev Yeaple, Clerk and Alt.
Absent : Lee Jenkins , Treas.
Treasurer¹s report:
The Town Treasure's monthly budget report for the Conservation Commission was reviewed. After some discussion-it was the consensus of the commission members to submit the same budget for the year 2003.

The minutes of the October 7 meeting were approved unanimously
Communications:
1. The contract with. R.Todd for the survey of the McAlister property has been signed & the contract is not to exceed $ items discussed. All agreed. A rough draft of the easement has been done by E.Cobbett. The map of the old RR route thru the property will be furnished by the NH Trails Bureau .
2. Report received from NHDES concerning the test for phosphorous done at the Deering Lake outlet. Report placed on file.
Old business:
1. Wasserman easement with the PWA. The Deering Conservation Commission has requested the town Treasurer to take $2000.00 from the Conservation Fund to give to the PWA towards the purchase of the Conservation easement . The prop-perty is located in Deering and abuts the Deering Conference center and the Piscataquog river.
2. Rymes property- 2nd NH TPKE - no further info as to actions taken.
3. Milfoil project - DEERING LAKE. The fisheries biologist will be sending info to various boat clubs around the state regarding the care of their boats.
4. The Chm. will send a reply to the ZBA regarding the opinion of the Commission on the proposed zoning ordinance relative to the wetlands section.
5. Discussion re funding for the milfoil project for the future. It was finally moved and seconded (EC/BY) that a warrant article be prepared for the Town Warrant requesting that the expenses for the milfoil project be carried by the town. A budget item will be prepared with consultation with Larry Sunderland.
6. Discussion re MAPS that can and will be provided by CNHPC.G.Bono in contact with CNHPC.
7. Discussion and an examination of the new Tax Maps done by Cartographics followed.
8. Steve has volunteered to do the surface water testing. New instruments are on order for the testing procedures.
9. Received from Shane Beard an updated address list of the Clean Up day participants - on tape. Keith volunteered to address the envelopes and he also printed out the fall reminder .(The mailing was sent 11/08/02.)
There being no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned at 9:15 PM.
