Minutes of March 2nd, 2009 Meeting

Call to Order:
Chairman Ed Cobbett called the meeting to order at 7:48 p.m.
Attendance:
Chairman Ed Cobbett, Bob Garland, Gary Bono, and Keith Johnson.
Treasurer’s Report:
No official report from the Town of Deering was received by the DCC. The only expenditure would have been the secretarial fees.
Correspondence:
The communications were reviewed by the members of the Commission. The following actions will be taken.
1. Wetlands Permit for Paul Casaletto Dam Work on the Second NH Turnpike – Ed Cobbett will keep an eye on the brook to make sure it doesn’t turn brown.
2. Conservation Campers – Ed Cobbett will contact Kathy Lassey and Martha Pinello (both teachers at HDMS) to see if they know anyone who might be interested. Also, Ed Cobbett will make copies of the brochure for the Town Meeting.
3. NH Association of Conservation Commission – A motion was made by Gary Bono and seconded by Keith Johnson to pay our $225.00 dues. All were in favor.
Old Business:
1. A motion was made by Gary Bono and seconded by Bob Garland to accept the February meeting minutes as printed. All were in favor.
2. PSNH Bartlett Hill Road Restoration – There will be a Warrant Article designating Bartlett Hill Road as a Class A Trail at the Town Meeting. Ed Cobbett and Gary Bono will be speaking on behalf of this article.
3. Conservation Easements/Proposed Purchases
A. Tax Lot Lands – Ed Cobbett will contact Craig Ohlsen. Nothing has been done yet.
B. Poling Easement – Ed Cobbett contacted them, but hasn’t heard anything back.
C. Donovan Easement – This project is completed.
D. Homestead Easement – This project is completed.
4. Bylaws – Ed Cobbett is still working on them.
New Business:
1. A new representative for the PLAC - Bev Yeaple and Betsey McNaughten were not present. This will be put on hold until the next meeting.
2. Downstairs Room – Mops and items removed. Ed Cobbett will get proposals for door.
3. Ed Cobbett will contact John Lassey about Election Day setup space. Gary Bono would like to setup a table, map, and easel. Ed Cobbett will prepare Protected Land Report and Wood Duck Report. Keith Johnson will get the map and cleanup list together. Ed Cobbett, Gary Bono, and Bob Garland will be present at the Town Hall at 10:00 am for setup.
4. Memberships – Ed Cobbett and Donna Marzullo memberships are up for renewal this year. Ed Cobbett will send a letter to Donna Marzullo.
Adjournment:
There being no further business, a motion was made by Gary Bono and seconded by Keith Johnson to adjourn the meeting at 8:45 p.m. All were in favor.
