Minutes of February 8th, 2010 Meeting
Deering Town Hall

Call to Order:

Chairman Ed Cobbett called the meeting to order at 7:47 p.m.

Attendance:

Chairman Ed Cobbett, Bob Garland, Gary Bono, and Keith Johnson.

Treasurer’s Report:

No official report from the Town of Deering was received by the DCC.

Correspondence:

The communications were reviewed by the members of the Commission.  No actions were taken.

Old Business:

01.     A motion was made by Gary Bono and seconded by Bob Garland to accept the January meeting minutes as printed.  All were in favor.
        
02.     Alternative Conservation Camp – Ed Cobbett contacted 4H at the UNH Cooperative Extension.  The two 4H camps in New Hampshire will be closed for this season.  Maine 4H will be holding the camp for them this year.  Information will be forwarded soon.

03.     Downstairs Storage Room – Door has been installed and painted.  Ed Cobbett will call to see where keys are.

04.     Tax Lot Lands – Ed Cobbett asked Craig Ohlsen to send the two deeds for both the roadway parcel (222/4) and land locked land (212/14) to give to Bob McWalters.

05.     ByLaws – Still in process.

06.     Biosolids – Public informational meeting being held on February 17th, 2010 at 6:30 p.m.  Gary Bono will post signs for this event.

07.     Martin Case – ZBA rejected appeal.

08.     Lake Recreational Area – No information has been sent out as of this date to the State of New Hampshire in regards to the proposed use fee.  Gary Bono drafted a letter on this issue, but will wait until the final version of the Town User Fee Plan has been completed before going forward with the mailing.

09.     Camp Tuckernuck – Ed Cobbett will contact Brian Hotz at SPNHF to see if a letter of interest from the Selectmen to the SPNHF would be acceptable relative to leasing the land.

10.     Wood Duck Boxes – This project is complete.  Gary Bono will follow up with Steve Walker.

11.     Town Voting Display – Ed Cobbett will write up the Protected Land Report and Gary Bono will write up the Surface Water Report and the Wood Duck Report.  Keith Johnson will produce the Roadside Cleanup Map.  There will be one wood duck box for display.  Gary Bono and Ed Cobbett will be available from 10:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.  Bob Garland will arrive at 10:30 a.m. to help with the setup.  Ed Cobbett will stop by NHDES and see if there are any new handouts available.  Ed Cobbett will contact John Lassey about permission to setup.  

New Business:

1.      Reduction of Land Use Change Tax from 100% to 50% and Biosolids – Ed Cobbett and Gary Bono will address both of these issues at Town Meeting.

2.      Proposed Activities for 2010 – A motion was made by Gary Bono and seconded by Keith Johnson to purchase a much needed bookshelf for storage room for a sum not to exceed $200.00.  All were in favor.

Adjournment:

There being no further business, a motion was made by Gary Bono and seconded by Keith Johnson to adjourn the meeting at 9:19 p.m.  All were in favor.
