Subject: Monthly Report
This month’s report will cover the period from 1 July to 31 July 2006 inclusive. The Deering Fire and Rescue responded to 14 calls during the month of July.
After investigating several options we have decided not to construct a separate building to house the Rescue Boat. The water craft is presently housed at the Donovan Station and we are in the final stages of equipping the boat for service.
Engine Two suffered some minor damage to one of the compartment doors during the month. The door actually came off the vehicle but we were able to repair the door and mount it back on the truck within a day without taking the apparatus out of service.
Training for the month consisted of SCBA maintenance. All of the newly purchased packs and cylinders were stenciled and topped off with air. The mounting brackets have arrived and will be placed in the apparatus. As soon as this takes place the Scott SCBA will be in service on all of the appropriate vehicles.
With our Department short one Engine we traveled to just one Parade in the area, taking part in Hillsboro’s annual event. Engine Three won a trophy for Best Equipped Engine. The night before the parade we provided Hillsboro with Fire Watch coverage on the Deering side of the Contoocook River during the fire works.
The Fire and Rescue Call Summary and Apparatus Report for the month of July are attached.
