Subject: Monthly Report
This month’s report will cover the period from 1 November to 30 November 2006 inclusive. The Deering Fire and Rescue responded to 12 calls during the month of November, including an ATV accident that required air transport by DHART.
We took delivery of 22 portable radios as part of the State’s Communications Interoperability program, a further requirement of the National Incident Management System. The radios, valued at approximately $3200.00 a piece, were made available at no cost to all Departments in the State through an Emergency Management Grant. The portables will be distributed to the Officers and Rescue members, and be used in the apparatus for on scene operations.
As part of the agreement to receive the radios, on November 14th members of the Department participated in the mandatory training on the operation of the portables. Assistant Chief Pragoff conducted the training as an Instructor for the New Hampshire Fire Academy.
Firefighter/EMT Becky Maddox has resigned from the Department since she is moving out of Town. However, we welcomed back two former members to the Department in November. Firefighter Jon Warren has returned to the area and will be responding from the Murdough Station. Firefighter/EMT Matt Wilmott is back from a year in New Zealand and will be responding from the McAlister Station.
The reconfiguration of the McAlister Station is complete. The office was relocated and reduced in size and the kitchen area was converted into a closet where we can store turnout gear that has not been issued. When the new Engine One arrives it will now fit in the apparatus bay on the South side of the station.
The Fire and Rescue Call Summary and Apparatus Report for the month of November are attached.
