Subject: Monthly Report
This month’s report will cover the period from 1 May to 31 May 2006 inclusive. The Deering Fire and Rescue responded to 19 calls during the month.
On May 7th, Deputy Chief Ladue, Captain Connor and Captain Tramontozzi made the trip to Connecticut and brought the Rescue Boat back to Deering. Since that time the boat and trailer have been registered and housed at the Donovan Station. Our goal is to have this piece of equipment in service by the end of June.
To make room for the boat at the Donovan Station, Engine 84 has been relocated to the McAlister Station until completion of the shed.
All of the components of the Compressor System and the SCBA have been delivered and these items should also be in service by the end of June.
KME has informed us that work has begun on the new Engine One. The old Engine One has been delivered to the Highway Department.
Our Fire Watch Detail at The Deering Center for the HDHS Prom was uneventful. We were happy to assist to make this event a success for the High School.
Our May Training on the 23rd was also the annual Mutual Aid Compact Drill. This consisted of a Two Alarm assignment bringing apparatus from Antrim, Hillsboro, Francestown, and Weare to the “scene” of our incident while Bennington covered the McAlister Station. We flowed water through our Master Stream on Engine Two and supplied Weare’s Master Stream on their Ladder to simulate a large event. The drill was successful. Our thanks to Ray Daniels for allowing us to use his property for this event.
Members of our Department joined the American Legion for the Memorial Day services at three of the cemeteries in town on 29th.
The Fire and Rescue Call Summary and Apparatus Report for the month of May are attached.
