Subject: Monthly Report
This month’s report will cover the period from 1 February to 28 February 2009. The Deering Fire and Rescue responded to 11calls during the month.
Maintenance issues during the month consisted of a steering box problem with Ambulance One and the need to reconnect the phone line (out since the Ice Storm) at Donovan Station. The Town Administrator was notified of both problems and was working to resolve them.
We ran out of heating oil for the third time this Winter at the McAlister Station. This is affecting the operation of the new furnace which also required repairs.
Lieutenant David Warren will be stepping down from his position effective March 1st. He will be remaining with the Department as a Firefighter assigned to the Murdough Station.
There were two training opportunities during the month. On February 16th we joined Hillsboro Rescue and Antrim Ambulance personnel at the Hillsboro Station for a two hour seminar with the State Medical Examiner. On the 24th our apparatus maneuvered around Zoski Road in the area of Campbell Lane as we began to develop a pre-plan for the homes on the Lake.
The Fire and Rescue Call Summary and Apparatus Report for the month of February are attached.
Respectfully Submitted,
Chief Andy Anderson
