Subject: Monthly Report
This month’s report will cover the period from 1 January to 31January 2009. The Deering Fire and Rescue responded to 13 calls during the month.
There were two maintenance issues with apparatus in January. Ambulance One is again have problems with its brakes. Tanker One apparently requires new batteries. Both items were reported to the Highway Department Mechanic for repair.
We ran out of heating oil for the second time this Winter at the McAlister Station. This is affecting the operation of the new furnace which also required repairs.
Lieutenant Rene Boyer has been granted a thirty day personal Leave of Absence.
After spending nearly five months on Active Duty in Iraq, we welcomed Lieutenant Steve Brooks back to the Department on January 29th.
Our annual CPR recertification was held at the Donovan Station on January 27th.
The generators that were loaned to us by the State were returned to the Office of Emergency Management on January 17th.
At the request of Emergency Management Director Bob Pragoff, the Fire and Rescue has moved the bottled water and MRE’s from the Town Hall to storage at the Donovan Station.
