Minutes
Regular Meeting of Library Trustees
February 9, 2008
A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of Deering Public Library convened at Deering Town Hall at 10:00 a.m. pursuant to notice given to all trustees in accordance with the bylaws.
The following trustees were present: Susan Bearor, Kathy Lassey and Kathy Luger.
The meeting was called to order at 10:20 a.m.
Approval of Minutes.
Minutes of the January 4th meeting were approved.
Old Business.
Scrapbook materials were reviewed and organized.
Trustees prepared for Town Meeting discussion of the warrant article for the expendable trust fund.
New Business.
There will be a movie day on February 29 for children, many who are on vacation that week.
Beth Rouse is updating the town website including the library page. A link to librarything.com would be convenient, especially when the collection is all entered on the FREE database.
Library trustees were unable to attend the first annual Grants Conference held on Monday, January 28 in Concord NH. This conference was held to present information about Federal, State and private grant monies available to libraries and others in the Second Congressional District of NH. Joan Burke (Friends of Deering Library) will try to get information from the conference for the library.
Jean Johnson sent information about “The Big Read,” a statewide book discussion group. Trustees voted to participate. Kathy Lassey will email the contact person.
The summer reading program was discussed.
The next regular meeting of the Library Trustees will be on March 8, 2008 at 10:00 a.m.
