MONTHLY REPORT        APRIL 2006

NEWS:.
1.      Exploring:  They have received their order of uniforms (polo shirts and ball caps).
2.      Prosecution:  This is coming along, and as long as we have agreement with terms, conditions, contracts, etc., between Antrim, Bennington, Deering (and Hillsboro Code Enforcement), this should begin on July 1, 2006.  It appears to be on for the remainder of 2006 will be $3K, for FY2007 probably in $7000 to $7,500 range.  Joint Meeting with Prosecutor and other towns???
3.      Request to look into a “Credit Card” for the PD:  in order to use for paying certain types of bills, specifically such as a VOIP line as discussed during budget season.

TRAINING:
1.      Ofc. Murphy is currently attending PT Police Academy.  Graduation is May 6th in Concord.
2.      Ofc. Hodgen attended a seminar on Drug Enforcement, including Meth. Labs.
3.      Ofc. Cavanaugh & Chief Pushee attended a training on Crime/Terrorism Prevention & Detection
4.      Ofc. Minichiello attended seminar on Domestic Violence issues.
5.      In-House training on weapon retention and certification for PBT (handheld breath test instruments)
6.      AED/ CPR Training Scheduled for May 9th and 12th (for PD recert and Explorers initial cert.).

GRANTS:  
1.      HSA Speed Enforcement Grant:  We continue working these special enforcement patrols (4 in April).
2.      HSA Video Unit Grant:  This grant is under review, and I expect to hear results soon.
3.      Bulletproof Vest Partnership:  we have received the vests that were ordered, but still awaiting approval/ notification for this years grant awards.  Application deadline was mid-April.
4.      AED:  I received three (3) new sets of CPR-D “Padz” valued at $150 each, plus three (3) new sets of lithium batteries ($100 per pack) on the manufacturers “Pad Replacement Program” after sending in the “data files” for the three uses of these machines.
