Notices from Town Clerk/Tax Collector regarding Holiday hours, etc:  
Closed Civil Rights Day, 01/19
Closed Presidents’ Day, 02/16
Our Regular Hours (non holiday schedule) are listed on your renewal sheet.
January 20, 7-7:30PM, meet with the Checklist Supervisors at Town Hall to register to vote or change your voter status.
Jan. 21-Jan. 30 is the period to sign up to run for office.  File for candidacy (must be a registered voter) at the Town Clerk’s office during office hours.  Town Clerk also opens from 3-5 PM, Jan. 30, to accept filings for office.  
Open positions are as follows:
Selectman (3 year term), file and pay $1
Town Clerk/Tax Collector (3 year term), file and pay $1
Trustee of the Trust Funds ( 3 year term), file, no charge
Trustee of Cemeteries (3 year term), file, no charge
Trustee of Library (3 year term), file, no charge

Last Day to file a proposed Warrant Article by petition with Town is February 3    (MUST HAVE SIGNATURES OF AT LEAST 25 REGISTERED VOTERS—please WITH LEGIBLE NAMES & ADDRESSES printed)

TOWN MEETING ELECTION DAY IS TUESDAY, MARCH 10. (11AM-7PM)
If not a registered voter, can register by 2/26 at Town Offices or, on Election Day.
TOWN MEETING IS SATURDAY, MARCH 14, AT 9 AM, TOWN HALL
Must be a registered voter to take part in floor votes on the articles.

BY LAW, DOGS MUST BE LICENSED EVERY YEAR BY APRIL 30. Licensing begins January 5, 2009.   BE SURE YOUR DOG’S RABIES VACINATION IS UP TO DATE.  WE CANNOT LICENSE ON AN EXPIRED RABIES SHOT.

Bring your vehicle registrations and/or your renewal letter when renewing your registrations.  This is a STATE requirement and is non-negotiable.  SORRY!!
We do not charge extra for renewals by mail, some Towns do.  Help us keep things cost effective by ALWAYS sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope for the return of your renewals by mail.

Tax delinquency notices will go out after January 10.  If you receive one, you have a balance due.  All assessment questions, exemption requests, address changes need to be directed to Lisa Demers at the Assessment Office, 464-3248. (Her hours are Mon 8:30AM-3PM, Wed 10-3, Thurs10-3).
Tax Questions to the Tax Collector can be made during Monday hours, Thursday hours and Wednesdays from 8:30-noon.  Payments can be accepted during all of our open hours.  Postmarks are accepted on mailed payments.
