Update: March 19, 2020 9:45am

The Town of Deering Selectmen and Emergency Management Team are monitoring the updates from Federal and State officials regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus). In light of the recent recommendations and State of Emergency announced by the Governor, our town departments are adjusting accordingly. To protect the public and staff from exposure and ensure continuity of service we are implementing several proactive steps.

The Board of Selectmen in cooperation with the Town Clerk/Tax Collector voted March 17th, effective March 18th, to protect public health during the COVID-19 Emergency, to limit access all town buildings to essential employees, officials and visitors by appointment.  With exception to public meetings posted pursuant to RSA 91-A, the meeting must be open to the public in the public space noticed.

We will continue to transact non-emergency business via phone, email, mail and internet services Monday – Thursday 8:00am to 4:00pm. We regret any inconvenience this may pose. It is in the best interest of the town residents and state to protect public health and maintain continuity of services.

All Deering Fire Stations are closed to the public unless it is a medical emergency. If you have an emergency please call 911.

We encourage people to use the online Tax and Clerk payment systems. Most applications and forms for other transactions are available for download on our website.

The Deering Police Department will be limiting face-to-face contact with the public. Non-emergency business transactions should be handled over the phone by calling (603) 464-3127 or (603) 464-3600.  VIN verifications and fingerprinting services will be suspended until further notice.

Appointments for Emergency Welfare Services can be made by calling 603-464-3248 between 8:00am-4:00pm or by calling 603-464-3600 after hours.

For administrative services, package deliveries or general questions please call 603-464-3248 between 8:00am-4:00pm

Call the Town Clerk/Tax Collector between the hours of 8:00am-4:00pm 603-464-3224 for assistance

Fire Wardens will not be issuing any face to face fire permits until further notice. If people need a permit, they may use the online permit process on the Division of Forest and Lands Website https://nhdflweb.sovsportsnet.net/

The Library will be closed for visitors. We encourage you to use the free book shelf in the Town Hall first floor lobby or the Little Free Library outside of Town Hall. We are suspending all requests to use the Town Hall Meeting spaces until further notice.
