Deering Hazard Mitigation Plan 2021 Public Information Meeting on June 17

DEERING: June 17, 2021 - Community leaders are taking steps to reduce the effects of Deering’s next natural disaster event, including flooding, storms, severe winds and winter weather. A Hazard Mitigation Committee comprised of Town Departments, Boards, emergency personnel, and community stakeholders has completed the Town’s updated draft Deering Hazard Mitigation Plan 2021. This updated Plan is required to be approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) every five years to maintain continued eligibility for federal mitigation project funding.

A PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING will be held on Thursday, June 17 at 7:00 PM via Zoom at the Deering Town Hall, 762 Deering Center Road during the Board of Selectmen’s regular meeting. The purpose of the meeting is to present the Plan and listen to public feedback on the document. All are invited to participate.

Login details for the Deering Hazard Mitigation Plan Update 2021’s Public Information Meeting are available on the Town website at www.deering.nh.us along with the associated Plan documents and Maps. A paper version of the draft Plan is available for review at the Town Hall.
